2022 Event Honoree & Community GEM

Each year, the GEM Gala recognizes a Tulsan and a local organization as “GEMs” for “Going the Extra Mile” in our community. We are delighted to celebrate Leadership Tulsa and its Executive Director, Wendy Thomas, as our 2022 GEMs and hope to have your support in honoring the lasting impact both Wendy Thomas and Leadership Tulsa have had in our city.

2022 Community GEM

Leadership Tulsa

For more than 40 years, Leadership Tulsa has been providing community leadership development programs. Leadership Tulsa was founded in 1973 as a joint project of the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce and the Junior League of Tulsa to help build the leadership capacities of Tulsa area professionals.

Leadership Tulsa Programs annually involve up to 200 adults representing a diverse cross-section of the community who learn about the infrastructure, needs, and resources of Tulsa and how to get involved to affect positive change. Classes are chosen through a competitive selection process and participate in training and educational experiences focused on building leadership skills and understanding the community.
